Specifics, Specifics, Specifics. What's your dream bike? I'm guessing it's a BMW Hp4 or something.

Depending on my financial situation (scholarships, etc.), I might try to reward myself with one of these when I graduate high school in May.

Here is something. Figured I'd pop my head out into the garage and snap a present pic of the 01 R1 out there. It's cold here, maybe in the spring.
G'z these garage is a cluster right now. Presently in the middle of about 8 projects in that picture. Not enough motivation to get any done. Except I did about 7 hours work out there & spent almost $200 on materials.

I need to get my hands on a DS. Dunno if I want more of a off-road/tourer, or something more like a DRZ. a used 650GS is definatly something I'm considering.

yay projects! I took my SV apart over the summer to swap out the suspension. what a cluster-f*ck that turned out to be.

this has some clutch issue, which has put it aside & on a back burner as life gets in the way of fun things.
Clutch is ALWAYS disengaged and needs a new cable for it. May also need new suspension as my brother had it lowered to be able to stand at a stop light. It's likely a basket case.

clutch is always DIS-engaged? I'd guess more worn out clutch-plates.
if its a basket case, TRACK BIKE!

I've looked at a couple YouTube videos and it doesn't seem too bad to replace. I'm a total noob when it comes to 2 wheel workings of things. Also names, to be honest I am not sure what a SV is or who makes it.
Does yamaha even make a factory service manual like there is for cars?
Long story short-> brothers getting married, fiancé doesn't like 2 wheels, title transfer, out of sight out of mind. But I know it's been down at least 4 times from him and previous owner.

Suzuki SV650 :P
I think Haynes does some. Some companys do, some dont.

well that's that. When I get some space cleared in the garage I'll take a look at fixing it. Some days I really miss being on 2wheels

WOW thats bad. your probably right on the broken clutch cable. dont know why the clutch would be disengaged though.

Wow, that brake setup is actually really similar to a bicycle's. I wouldnt have thought that

except the one I'm pulling on is the clutch.
If you think driving the ranger with a manual is a lot to handle wait till you get a bike.

I actually dont think driving stick is that hard, but if thats the clutch cable my sentiment still stands just replace "brake" with "clutch"

Yes, once you get the hang of it it's not bad. Just like a manual it becomes second nature, a lot of fun & freedom.

There is a *very* slim chance that I'll manage to get a full-ride scholarship to UT. If, by some miracle, that happens, I'm putting a chunk of my college savings toward a new Sertao to celebrate. That bike is pretty much everything I want in a motorcycle at this point.

nice!
I cant afford insurance for a second road-goig machine right now, so I MIGHT getr a track bike next year. ride that and my road-going bike for a few years then get a dual-sport.
